Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

[New Years Eve]

I thought that it would be perfect to start off my first blog post with a huge event... New Years Eve and the events that followed! New Years @ The Guvernment seemed to be "THE" event of the year since my friends, as well as myself was hyping it up for weeks on end. Although the night started off being a total mess since one of my buddies almost thought he lost his wallet in Oakville an hour and a half before the countdown and I trying to get from Lakeshore to College Park in NYE traffic; it didn't look to well for us making the countdown. With our luck, we actually made it into the club before the countdown but what was truly hilarious was counting down the seconds to the New Year in Koolhaus.... everyone screaming 5....4....3....2....1... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! As soon as that occurred "All I Do Is Win" begins to play and the entire Koolhaus complex goes insane! What a sight to say the least... Hahahahah! Anywho, we finally made it into the main room where we quickly find out that the club is rammed wall to wall with people! This was totally unexpected, but as usual we made the best of the situation at hand. Mostly sitting in Acid Lounge and going ape in the Orange Room which was strangely playing Tech House that night, it was a night filled with beautiful beats, captivating lights and pounding bass! Leaving the club at around 5am we made our way back to my buddy’s res on UofT campus and where I passed out on the floor until 10:30am

[New Years Day]

Waking up at 10:30am in res, my buddy Dave and I walked back to my car to take a little nap before we checked into our hotel room at the Sheraton on Queen St. Walking into the lobby through huge revolving doors and looking at the large scope of the lobby we proceeded to check into our room. Taking the long elevator ride up to the 25th floor I opened the door to room 2526 and we were greeted by an amazing view of the CN Tower and the street lights below. Strangely enough there were people swimming in the pool below while it was only 5 degrees outside.... heated pool?!? We tried to get some sleep but we decided not to and take in the hotel room as much as possible but watching TV on a glorious 42" LCD and playing Dave's PS3 which he brought alone for the trip! The only thing we were missing was some internet!!! Night came and the plans have changed. Initially the plan was to go back to back at The Guvernment but we quickly found out that most of the club was closed due to the cleaning that needed to occur from the New Years Eve celebration. Century Room was the new spot that was decided by my girl Sandra who was celebrating her 20th birthday. Wearing my signature purple dress shirt, I had to borrow Dave’s skinny tie to complete my ensemble. With the clock striking 12:30am I find myself in the club with decent house beats blasting... I don’t really remember how I got there... Meeting up with Sandra and her friends in the booth we partied and danced long into the night almost closing the club.

It was really a good way to ring in 2011 and to start a fresh new year.
Let 2011 bring new faces, friendships and experiences
